There is a great wasabi farm just after the Toyoshino exit on the Chuo expressway. It's interesting to walk around and they have free wasabi taste testing. You can also find wasabi ice cream and even wasabi beer. The ice cream is actually quite good (this comes from someone that doesn't particularly like wasabi). Also in summer you can go rafting down a gentle stream that runs next to the farm. (Approximately 45mins from Hakuba)
